“I never felt more alone in my entire life than I did while I was struggling with alcohol. It was the most isolating and the loneliest I ever felt. The only thing that helped with that was meeting with other people who were experiencing the same thing.”
When asked about how she understood that she was addicted to alcohol and it was not just an assumption she said

Elizabeth Vargas was born on the 6th of September 1962 in Paterson and her father was of Italian descent and mother was of Italian-German-Swedish descent. Her father’s name was Rafael Vargas and was an officer in the U.S army and her mother’s name was Anne Vargas and was an English teacher.
Elizabeth Vargas has two siblings and she graduated from American High school.
She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.

Elizabeth Vargas married Marc-Cohn who is a singer-songwriter. The couple dated for three years and then got married on the 20th of July in the year 2002.
